Advantages of water-jet cutting over other cutting methods:
- minimal mechanical, heat-induced or chemical influence on the workpiece
- workpieces can be finely processed because there are no transverse loads caused
- nearly any type of material can be cut-- even up to 4" thickness
- bridges and separating parts of less than 1mm can be manufactured without difficulty from stiff materials
- virtually no design limits
- detailed cutting allows less waste of material
- superior edge quality with no heat-affected zone
- elimination of secondary finishing; minimal tooling, fixturing and setup required
- the ability to operate multiple cutting heads at once, producing individual parts faster and with less expense
- there is no need for holes to be pre-bored (except in the case of sandwich/stacked/laminated materials)
